Getting Started

How do I start using BankStatementMatcher?+

Simply upload your bank statement PDF and a CSV/Excel file with expected payments. Our system will automatically match transactions by reference number and amount.

What file formats do you support?+

We support PDF bank statements and CSV/Excel files for expected payments. We can extract data from most common bank statement formats.

Do I need to create an account?+

No! You can use the free tier without registration. For paid plans with higher limits, you'll need to create an account.

Matching & Results

How does the matching algorithm work?+

We match transactions using multiple strategies: exact reference + amount match, fuzzy reference matching, amount-only matching, and date-based matching. You can review and manually adjust matches.

What if a transaction doesn't match?+

Unmatched transactions are clearly marked. You can manually match them, mark them as ignored, or export them for further review.

Can I export the results?+

Yes! You can export results as Excel (.xlsx), PDF, or CSV. The export includes all matches, unmatched items, and reconciliation summary.

Pricing & Limits

What are the limits on the free plan?+

The free plan allows 1 statement per day with up to 50 rows. Perfect for trying out the service or occasional use.

Can I change plans anytime?+

Yes! You can upgrade or downgrade your plan at any time. Changes take effect immediately with prorated billing.

Do you offer refunds?+

Yes, we offer a 30-day money-back guarantee on all paid plans. No questions asked.

What payment methods do you accept?+

We accept all major credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express) through Stripe. Enterprise customers can pay via bank transfer.

API & Integration

Do you have an API?+

Yes! Starter plans and above include API access. You can programmatically upload files, retrieve match results, and integrate with your systems.

Where can I find API documentation?+

API documentation is available at /docs. You'll find interactive examples, code samples, and detailed endpoint descriptions.

Do you support webhooks?+

Yes! Pro plans and above support webhooks. Get notified when matching jobs complete or encounter errors.

Security & Privacy

Is my data secure?+

Yes! All data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. We follow industry best practices for data security and are GDPR compliant.

How long do you keep my files?+

Uploaded files and results are kept for 30 days by default. You can delete them anytime from your dashboard. Enterprise customers can configure custom retention policies.

Who can see my data?+

Only you can access your data. Our staff never accesses customer data unless explicitly requested for support purposes with your permission.

Are you GDPR compliant?+

Yes, we are fully GDPR compliant. We provide data export, deletion, and comply with all GDPR requirements.

Technical Support

What support do you offer?+

Free users get community support. Paid plans include email support (response within 24 hours). Pro plans get priority support (response within 4 hours).

How do I report a bug?+

Please contact us through the support page or email support@bankstatementmatcher.com. Include as much detail as possible about the issue.

Do you offer training or onboarding?+

Business plans include personalized onboarding sessions. For other plans, we have video tutorials and documentation.
